The Montvale Volunteer Fire Co. is located in Bedford County, VA adjoining the city of Bedford. We serve a primarily residential and rural territory which includes several miles of U.S. 460.

Founded in 1959 as Montvale Volunteer Fire Company, We are bordered on the west by Blue Ridge and to the east by Thaxton. Both of which are served by volunteer departments. We work together with Montvale Rescue Squad for EMS and both Shady Grove VFD, Bedford VFD providing mutual aid.

We have over 40 volunteers operating 8 pieces of fire suppression apparatus, a  4x4 crew cab Utility and one car. We provide Fire, EMS and Rescue services. On average, we run about 200 calls a year.

Our current quarters (pictured below) stands at the corner of  Goose Creek Valley Rd. and Volunteer Rd. The  building consists of 5 fire bays. The center section which separates the bays, includes the Chief's office and main meeting room. Beside the meeting room are restrooms and kitchen.
